Canterbury BID Ballot Result Announcement

A crowded Canterbury old town high street

We are delighted to let you know that the Canterbury Business Improvement District (BID) has been re-elected to represent and promote the huge range businesses in Canterbury for another five years. With a 52.4% turnout, businesses in the city voted for the BID with a 69.42% majority by number and a 74.85% majority by rateable value.

Within a fluctuating retail and economic landscape, we recognise that each organisation faces individual challenges and so we have taken on board all feedback that has been received during the ballot process. This will help shape our thinking going forward to ensure that we deliver activity that will benefit all businesses within the BID area in Canterbury. The new BID term will start from 13 October 2019.

We regularly hold networking events throughout the year which is a great chance to meet new faces and reconnecting with familiar ones within the city plus enable us to get a good measure about how we can best support you. We would be delighted to see you at the next BID networking session on Tuesday 16 July from 5-7pm at The Beaney, Thursday 18 July at Designed Interiors and on Tuesday 10 September from 5-7pm at Dodgems & Floss / The Hugo on St Peter’s Street. In the meantime, to find out more about the projects and activities planned for the second BID term, you will find the Business Plan on the BID website (https://www.canterburybid.co.uk/business-plan-2/).

We would like to take advantage of this moment  to say that we are hugely looking forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals and flourish within the city of Canterbury.
