Canterbury Bid

MyCanterbury – Supporting Local Businesses

This month, we are here to help you prepare for Christmas during lockdown. If you have family members who are impossible to buy for, why not get them a Canterbury Gift Card which allows them shop in over 90 (and counting!) different city centre businesses in the new year. Alternatively, many of our businesses are offering click and collect and online purchasing (see our guide below). Most importantly, our businesses need your support so please remember to shop local this year:

“They say that when you buy from a small business, someone does a little happy dance. This couldn’t be closer to the truth.” Olivia, Fitzgerald Jewellers

MyCanterbury is brought to you by Canterbury BID. We’re here to help you get the very best from your city. We’re funded by the businesses of Canterbury city centre and we offer information, deals and discounts, and inspiration to make your time in the city fun and rewarding. We operate social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram). We talk with our local audience via a weekly e-newsletter, updating them on what’s on, what’s new, what’s coming up and where they can find a great local experience. Sign up today using the link at the bottom of this page (it’s FREE!)

Parking Updates:

  • ALL car parks across the district are open with the exception of Rosemary Lane car park.
Park and Ride:

Services will stop on Friday 6 November. Sturry Road and Wincheap will be closed completely. New Dover Road will stay open for parking only, at a charge of 50p a day, for people who want to walk or cycle into the city.

From 7 November: all day parking for £3.50 at Castle Street multi storey car park. This is to help essential workers who have to come into Canterbury, and exactly replicates the same all day value offered by park and ride. The current free parking arrangements in non-ANPR car parks for NHS staff and care key workers are continuing. Please continue to display the usual notice in your windscreen.
