Canterbury Bid

Networking

Canterbury BID Networking takes place once a month in a variety of different venues. This gives local businesses an opportunity to showcase their establishment and activities to other local business members. Each month sees between 40-60 members of the business community joining us for the event. It is an informal, relaxed and sociable atmosphere and a great opportunity to get to know fellow professionals in Canterbury.

Spaces are limited to 2 per business, unless availability allows.

Next Networking Event:

Tuesday 24 May (fully booked)
5.30-7pm
Canterbury Cathedral’s Viewing Gallery, Cathedral Welcome Centre, Buttermarket

Come and enjoy drinks and nibbles and the stunning view of Canterbury Cathedral as your backdrop. The new viewing gallery allows visitors to get their first glimpse of the cathedral and is home to a fascinating exhibition on cathedral architecture.

Wednesday 15 June
8.30-10.30am
McDonalds, St George’s Street, Canterbury

Join us for a very special breakfast networking and litter picking event! We will supply you with a hearty McDonalds breakfast and plenty of coffee, and then the fun commences. We will break into groups and head out for some competitve litter picking. The group that picks up the most litter will be winning some superb prizes.

Thursday 14 July
5.30-7pm
Chaps & Chapettes Salon, Upper Bridge Street, Canterbury

Join us for drinks and nibbles at one of Canterbury’s hidden gems. Karis and Charlee extended their successful male grooming business, Chaps, two years ago to create a fantastic new event space for their ‘Chapettes’. The business now includes an additional salon, bar and treatment rooms for us to explore.

These events are being co-hosted with local solicitors Girlings.

Through Spring to Autumn 2021, BID was hosting monthly networking sessions via Zoom. Each session welcomed over 50 local business representatives, and showcased local products including a chocolate tasting with Madame Oiseau, beer tasting with Shepherd Neame and gin tasting with The Foundry – cheers to that!

We have been lucky to host networking events at many wonderful local businesses. Not only does it give us a chance to learn more about the history of the business, but is also an opportunity for them to showcase their space and activities – here are a few highlights from previous events:
