Supermarket Opening Hours

Please note that as of 27 March various supermarkets are putting in place additional safety procedures to enable social distancing for customers and staff. Here are a few changes you might notice:

  • Limiting the number of people allowed in stores.
  • Queuing systems in place outside stores with encouragement for keeping 2 metres apart.
  • Limit on the number of items people can buy so food and other essential items are on shelves for longer each day (so you can arrive throughout the day and avoid long queues forming in the morning). 
  • Asking customers to pay by card at the till if you can.
  • If you are unable to pay by card, pay with cash at the self scan tills.
  • Reducing the number of checkouts to help colleagues and customers keep a safe distance from each other.
  • Introducing safety screens at every manned checkout out
  • Asking customers to only touch things they intend to buy
