Canterbury BID has announced the launch of ‘Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ to thank residents and visitors for supporting Canterbury over the past 18 months. Over the next six weeks, local businesses are offering daily deals and discounts providing many inspiring reasons to visit the city which is packed full of foodie hot-spots, cultural attractions, independent businesses as well as some of the UK’s leading high street chains.

Every weekday, between 26 July and 3 September, a different local offer will be highlighted through MyCanterbury eNewsletters, Facebook and Instagram. ‘Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ has been designed by Canterbury BID with the support of Canterbury City Council’s Reopening High Streets Safely Committee, to encourage everybody to shop local this summer and to help people plan their shopping and fun in Canterbury around that week’s abundance of offers.

The campaign is completely free to take part in for Canterbury BID businesses and presents a fresh, positive, and engaging opportunity to put the spotlight on Canterbury’s businesses who have all had their individual struggles since March 2020.  ‘Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ was created in response to feedback from local businesses about how their businesses had been affected and is designed to help people discover the city’s many local businesses, during the quiet days as well as the busier times, plus increase spend and help new customers easily locate them within the city.

Lisa Carlson, CEO of Canterbury BID, comments, “This summer, welcoming residents and visitors into our city will be more important than ever. That is why we have created the ‘Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ campaign that encourages footfall and highlights our wonderful businesses. We know, from speaking to many of our local businesses, that they need more footfall during the weekdays, and spread throughout the city. We look forward to the positive buzz that the campaign will bring to the city, and we hope everyone will try something new.”

Julie Nuttall at The Cheese Shop says “We are delighted to welcome the ’Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ campaign, as it gives our local businesses a helping hand in attracting customers; and it is an opportunity to say thank you to those who have supported us over this extraordinary past year. We hope it will bring a little happiness, as the campaign starts to deliver to our customers across the city.”

Whether it is a free slice of cake with your coffee purchase, a lunchtime beauty treatment, a discount when you dine out, free entry into a historic venue, or money off your summer wardrobe, the ‘Summer of Rewards with MyCanterbury’ promises to be a welcome treat for everybody this Summer.
