Message from Alex Giacchetti, Chief Operating Officer, Setha Group:

I would like to invite you to visit a public exhibition of plans to redevelop the former Nasons site, now owned by Setha Group. Our proposed plan for the area is Biggleston Yard – a mixed-use development vital to the long-term sustainability of Canterbury city centre.

The public exhibition will be open:

  • Time: 2pm – 8pm on Thursday 5 December
  • Noon- 8pm on Friday 6 December
  • Place: The former Nasons Department Store, 47 High Street

Biggleston Yard seeks to transform the land formerly owned by Nasons, including both the department store, which has been closed now for more than a year, and surrounding buildings. We have engaged with the Council’s planning department and are now able to present what we believe are exciting proposals to create a new retail and leisure destination, alongside new residential and commercial development.

Our proposals have been months in the making and we have ensured Biggleston Yard looks to the future economic wellbeing of the city, while also being anchored to the city’s heritage and celebrating its former industrial history.

Site owners, architects and other members of the project team will be on hand to explain the proposals and answer any questions you may have – a buffet lunch will be available. At 2pm, the exhibition will be open to the public until 8pm, and again between noon and 8pm on Friday 6 December. A website – www.BigglestonYard.info – will be live by noon on Thursday 5 December.
