Canterbury Bid

Digibury Weekender

Digibury Weekender - Gulbenkian - University of Kent, Canterbury - 17 October 2015, 10am-4.30pm

Organised by digital agency Deeson and hot on the heels of the brilliant first Digibury Weekender in 2014, this year’s festival will be a fascinating and challenging canter through how digital is changing the world we live in.

Comedian, writer and co-host of BBC R4’s Infinite Monkey Cage Robin Ince will welcome you to the Digibury Weekender as host of this one-day tech, digital, art and design festival.

Has technology made the world a better place? Have we lost the human in the rush?
The event will explore how digital has made people, communities and nations more inclusive – as well as challenging this notion by looking at where new barriers are emerging through digital innovation.

What alternatives now exist that have opened up opportunities for people and for organisations?

And what is proving increasingly difficult as a result of our increased preference for using technology in the every day?

Who gets to decide what metrics matter now?

What does it mean, today, to be human?
