Canterbury BID is proud to provide the city with a full time Street Team who operate 7 days a week, to help in all aspects of the BIDs work. With experience and knowledge in safety, first aid and conflict resolution, both through day and night, they can provide an extra level of support. Our branded street team are instantly recognisable, and either through planned or “ad-hoc” business visits, aim to deliver a welcoming, safe and supportive environment.
Building relationships: Business liaison and networking are at the forefront of how the team operate, making sure that business are visited on a reasonably frequent basis; sharing city centre news and opportunities; guiding on matters of safety and security, and supporting day to day operational needs.
Reporting; Street Team are the eyes and ears of the BID and report various environmental and other issues in the City Centre, so that collectively we can ensure that Canterbury is the best it can be for businesses, staff and visitors. Alongside the physical reporting, our constant data analysis provides trends in which we can report back to the council, to ensure you are supported.

Connecting; The Street Team work with the statutory services (Canterbury City Council, Kent County Council, Kent Police) and other external contractors, allowing them to highlight any issues that may cause concern for businesses such as graffiti, litter, illegal street trading, faulty street lights, broken pavements and anti-social behaviour.
Welcoming visitors; The team are a visible presence 7 days a week, aiming to engage with the local community and visitors. They are available to provide local knowledge, directions, signposting to businesses, cultural activities and locations, tourist attractions and more – to make every visit to Canterbury a pleasant, enjoyable and memorable experience.
