The University of Kent is celebrating its Diamond Weekend, marking 60 years since its founding. Event highlights include: Weekend Warm Up – Fri 19 June, 7:30pm Gulbenkian, featuring Laura Lexx and Attila the Stockbroker. Culture Fest – Sat 20 June, from 1pm Live music, performances, global food, and Fenwick Festival pop‑ups on the lawn overlooking Canterbury. All welcome. Jazz Brunch – Sun 21 June, 10am Colyer‑Fergusson Concert Hall, featuring Earl Okin.
Filming will be taking place in Canterbury City Centre on Friday 19th June 2026 for a television production titled "Let's Play Ball", produced by Initial TV. The filming activity will involve a large inflatable ball being moved through sections of the city centre by contributors, accompanied by a small filming crew and traffic management team. The production will be operating under permissions granted through Kent County Council and in liaison with Kent Film Office. The ball weighs approx. 45kg and will be pushed along designated routes through the city centre.
