Keep Britain Tidy’s National Litter Weekend

Litter and fly tipping are a blight and this weekend across the city there are a large number of litter picks and clean ups. A huge thank you to those who have organised these great events. Here is the list, join one if you can and make a real difference to our community across the city:

Saturday 4 March, 10am – 12noon
Event:  St Dunstan’s Residents’ Association Spring Clean
Meeting point: Corner of New Street and Orchard Street
Other info:  Litter picking equipment will be provided, but it helps if you have your own

Saturday 4 March, 10am – 12noon
Event:  Oaten Hill & South Canterbury Association Spring Clean
Meeting point: Junction of New Dover Road and St Lawrence Road
Other info:  Litter picking equipment will be provided, but it helps if you have your own.  We will be picking up litter along the street and will also be clearing ivy from the shrubbery by Lichfield Road

Event:  Kingsmead Community Spring Clean
Meeting point: The car-park on Kingsmead Field
Other info:  The litter-pick will finish at noon with refreshments and cakes
Litter picking equipment will be provided, but it helps if you have your own

Event:  Westgate Parks Community Litter-pick
Meeting point:  Outside the blue office block in Toddlers’ Cove at 11am
Other info:  Litter picking equipment will be provided, plus tea, coffee and biscuits

Saturday 4 March, 2pm – 3pm
Event:  St Stephen’s Litter Pick
Meeting point:  The bench in front of the Almshouses on St Stephen’s Green at 2pm
Other info:  Litter picking equipment will be provided, but it helps if you have your own.  Refreshments at 3 pm.
