The 149th Open, the 150th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ death, the 850th anniversary of the murder of Thomas Becket; these are just a handful of the major events and anniversaries that will make 2020 a significant year for Kent. In fact, 2020 is such a big year for Kent that Visit Kent have renamed it #KentyTwenty!

By drawing together all the major events and anniversaries into one joined up message, Kent will give visitors real reasons to come and explore the county in 2020, and businesses an easy way to maximise the opportunities presented by such a wealth of activity right on your doorstep.

Royal St George’s Golf Open (Sandwich 2020)

The eyes of the world will be focused on Kent when The Open returns to Royal St George’s Golf Club, Sandwich from 12-19 July 2020

With the local economic impact of the event expected to be in the region of £100m, golf’s original championship, The 149th Open will be the biggest sporting event in Kent’s history and presents an incredible opportunity for your business to benefit.

Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to attend the event: engage with spectators while they are visiting and encourage them to not only return themselves but recommend Kent to friends and family.
