Public Consultation of Draft Statement of Licensing Policy

Statement of Licensing Policy
Licensing Act 2003

The Licensing Act 2003 requires that the Licensing Authority (Canterbury City Council) publishes a Statement of Licensing Policy document.

On 07 January 2016 the council adopted the previous policy, without amendment, on an interim basis, so that a comprehensive consultation can take place on an up-dated policy to reflect the current law and the needs of the Canterbury administrative district.

As part of this process Canterbury City Council are consulting with a range of stakeholders, including responsible authorities, representatives of the trade and the public.  The consultation period is to 28 February 2017.

Public consultation sessions in Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable have been arranged during the consultation period so that officers are directly available to licence holders businesses and interested persons. The Canterbury consultation session will take place on 24 January 2017 from 14:15 – 16:15 in the Marion Attwood Room, Council Offices, Military Road, Canterbury CT1 1YW.

The existing Statement of Licensing Policy and the draft Statement of Licensing Policy can be viewed on line at https://www.canterbury.gov.uk/business/licensing/statement-of-licensing-consultation/
